Love

A conversation with a friend triggered a thought process. It was the most tried and tested topic of all times.Yeah, what else but love.Love a security blanket for some people, the light at the end of the tunnel for others...... A stranger you want to talk to but you can't cause you don't know the language , to most. For me , till now love has been a Concept. I have believed that it is something made of everything that is pure. I have thought that it is something that would be available in abundance if the world had been perfect. But since our world is so flawed, i have thought that the concept has become so complicated that we can only dream about it but never understand it let alone achieve it.
But I revisited that thought today. Is it so complicated that we cannot understand it , or is it so simple that we have ignored it? Is it not love that a mother feels when her baby first smiles at her. If so then what is so complicated about it? Is it not love when you share your sandwich with a friend even when you are hungry? When your friend is crying and all you can do is hug her and hope to ease the pain? When you move a puppy away from the dangers of a busy road? When you save a movie ticket stub for years , just because you watched it with someone special? When you die for your country just because you were born there....when you smile at a stranger on the street ....when you say thank you ...when you clasp the hand of someone who has no hope left anymore..... When you pray for ones you never knew and will never know , just so their suffering is eased..... When you sit in front of your t.v and cheer for your team even when they can't hear you...
What is it but love? Why is it looked upon as the gold at the end of the rainbow? Why is it hyped up so much that the very essence and purity that love is made of gets marred by jealousy and anger. Why do we keep searching for something we already have? I have come to realize something.Everything is a circle. We keep looking forward to something we so desperately want ,that we never realize that we actually left it behind.

Beautiful Rinku. Gave a new meaning to the word love.

Good opinions! I've liked the way you've described the daily activities and related the same. ;)

And yeah, everything indeed is a circle, a vicious circle in fact. Your head keeps chasing the tail, and your tail follows your head.

its not a circle. its a point. depends on from where u looking at... all things u said about love are non threatning for one.. everything indeed is love.. but situations.. things which threatens one.. scares one.. complexes one.. make love fly out of window.. love is simple.. its acceptance.. of yourself and other.. in its most natural form.. an unsaid melody... humming along in back of your mind.. its simple.. it being you.. its darwin theory of survival.. survival and propagation.. two pillars of love.. life.. peace.. inner whatever.. mantra shantra.. gyan.. anything... one point. its all matrix.. few release of harmones here and there.. defending your survival..and supporting your propogation.. thats the only point

It isn't complicated, it's rather simple actually, of course, if one can accept it.

It is imaginary. It is something we feel for no other reason than to feel, that there is more to this life.

The purest and best example of love that i ca think of is that of a dog for his master/mistress. No matter which day, no matter how long, no matter what you do, no matter how much or how less you give - ur dog will always look forward to seeing you, welcoming you like no other, follows you everywhere and kisses you every morning and everyday...always loyal, never judges nor abandons you...which is more than what i can say for human companions.
Having said that, this is the ideal...the paragon of love...I guess its unfair to expect an absolute match in humans!

hmmm.. I have never read such an extravaganza on love. This is something commendable.

It's kinda hard to believe that love is kinda built into the human mind but people. I was reading a book in which he categorizes love as "BLUE" and "PINK". Each instance that you have quoted is one of the simplest ways of expressing love and fall into the BLUE category. I hope I am making some sense. But I do agree that people are always seeking "LOVE" which gives them a "PINK" feeling. This is a stretch for most people and they like it, coz it gives them BRAGGING rights. lolzzzz ...

But at the end of the day, it reminds me of the famous kannada bhavageethe..

"Ello hudukide illada devara kallu mannugala gudiyolage..
Ille iruva preeti sneha gala....
Gurutisalaarevu nammolage.. "
